Welcome to our website

Say Hello, Gloria
Guernsey Smallholders is a practical and social club, which forms a network of enthusiastic people interested in raising livestock and growing food in an environmentally friendly and respectful way, and who can offer each other advice, support and help, and exchange produce, skills and ideas.
Based in Guernsey in the Channel Islands the club holds social events, meetings and practical courses, and invites speakers to talk to us on topics of interest to our members.
This website helps us to keep in touch with one another and to keep up to date with what is going on in smallholding around the island. We also have lively discussions, as well as sell, swap, and give away items via our Facebook page, which you can get to by clicking the button at the top right of any page on this site (it is a closed group, so please join us). If you'd like to check our site terms, please click here.
Most of us run our smallholdings as a hobby, with the added bonus of producing a lot of our own fruit and vegetables, while some are more commercial and rely on their produce to make a living. Club members keep a variety of livestock, including sheep, goats, pigs, cattle, and many types of poultry. Beekeeping is also becoming increasingly popular among our members.
As our membership increases, we aim to respond to members' needs and interests to maintain a lively and vibrant local club. Why not join in? You don't even need any wellies.
